Social Essay: to what extent does global trade reduce or increase the likelihood of violence?

First, could someone provide me with any examples and/or evidence? Maybe examples of imperialism, exploration? Greatly appreciated.

and secondly, for my introduction, would it be good if I use an anecdote? Perhaps two children fighting over sharing toys?

Globalization may result in the need for some sectors of one society to endure lost job opportunities, massive retraining mandates and/or relocation to other job hubs.

If these changes are applied indiscriminately and/or too quickly, violent protests may ensue.
