  1. 1)Age war fare, with as baby boomers move to retirement they will still want their penions, low taxes, health systems, etc etc and will have the political clout thru their numbers to demand this and the goverment will have to take more and more away from the workers/producers to fund this.

    2) The fail of mulitculturialism, as new communities come into existing nation states more so as nations try to off set their declining birth rates with immigration, eg wahhabi muslims to Australia, they will live in Australia but not be of Australia, evenutally reaching enough numbers to at least in their area dominate, and haveing sections of Australia which don't operate on "Mainstream values" but would rather their own. And governments, socialogists wishing to avoid conflict go along with it with policy's of appeasement.

    3) More and more personal decisions which manily affect the individual but not which were previously illlegal will become legal eg, Euthanisia, sexual preferences, abortion, drug use,

  2. I can paint a dark picture:

The family unit may dissolve into a casual connection rather than a life time commitment.  People will tend to come together for a short time, enjoy some camaraderie, and then move on to another temporary liaison.  Children will tend to be an inadvertent by-product of this casual and non-binding process.

The children will be shared, but will tend to live with one parent or the other, in the cooperative style of the divorced couples of today.  However, in the future, this sharing mechanism will be the standard.  Of course, there will be some percentage of couples who will live together as a family unit and support their children in today's traditional fashion, but these liaisons will be the exception, not the rule.

We are heading toward a culture of complete, personal independence, rather than legal liaisons which require formal cooperation and sharing of resources.

Yes, that's a dark picture.  But, right now, I cannot fathom a different future.  I hope I'm wrong.
