Has anyone of you ever tried to get Medicare or Medicaid?

If you are a white male with a disability that keeps you from working, such as blindness, have you had trouble getting assistance from the govt.?

Every time i have been, in 3 different locations, I have been talked down to and denied as soon as I walked in the door.

Has anyone else had these problems? And if so, did you find help anywhere else?

My meds are almost as much as my disability check and I cannot even get food stamp card.

there must be help there somewhere.

You MUST ALWAYS file an appeal if you are denied SSA disability sometimes it is the only way of getting it. As for food stamps I'm not sure why you were denied, do you have income?

You are eligible to medicare 2 years after you begin receiving SSA

These people don't want to help anyone. The system is all messed up. Many people need "Health Insurance and can't get it". I don't even understand why they hold money out of the working man's check. This is a good example of the way our government is. They don't care and don't really want to help people who are in need physically.

What are we even paying taxes for??? They shouldn't even hold out taxes. This is a joke and waste of tax payer money. Vote Republican!

for food stamps, you have to be almost destitute. You either have nothing or you make too much.  My advice is to go to a food bank, get all the help you can..find an attorney. they will not charge you until they win the case. See if you can get your meds thru the pharmaceutical company directly. If you qualify they will send them to you.. your MD office should be able to help with that. If you are on disability you should have medicare at least.. are you on soc. sec. disability?? then you should be on medicare.. medicaid you will only get if you are very low income but medicare will buy your meds and food stamps takes your med cost off of your expenses so you should get them
