When the United States broke into two countries(North and South) After the Civil War in 1863. What was the name of the President of the Southern States and what was the name of the country in the south?

    I wouldn't necessarily call the southern states during the civil war a "country". It was never recognized by any other nations, therefore by international law and custom, it was never really an independent country.

    According to the Confederate Constitution a president would be elected every six years (and could never be re-elected). The confederate president was Jefferson Davis, from 1861-1865.
