Social Worker/Children's Services Assistant?

A social worker has to be registered to look after a case, is this correct? Then what is the role of a chidren's services assisstant, what can she legally do and not do.

  1. It is not neccessary for a registered Social Worker to be the "key worker" in a case.  It is standard practice for every "care plan" to be checked by the team manager.  The team manager will have been a qualified social worker.

    Social workers, doctors and police have certain extra legal powers. Everyone else has the same powers as the general public.
