Social/cultural/racial changes in US during 1990s?

does anyone know any important social or cultural changes during this time and how it affected people

I would base my discussion around the internet and information availability toward the end of the 90s.  You can talk about the predecessors to myspace, email, etc.

It essentially made our country smaller and more accessible- the same way trains, cars and airplanes have.  Brought people together.
