Social engagement?

So I work in the service industry. Some times when I approach a group of guest only the woman at the table pays attention to me. We have casual conversation for a moment and the guy looks up finally and appears to be upset but does not state a reason, nor do I ask. I did nothing more than have casual conversation. Why is the guy jealous or has that look on his face?

  1. He probably thinks you're flirting with his lady friend! Or, if he's been sitting there saying nothing, he's probably jealous that you actually know how to have a conversation. I've been out with those "quiet" guys...it's nice when the server at least makes conversation! lol :P Don't take it personally, just have fun and do a good job!

  2. He's probably just jealous of your rugged good looks.  lol

It might be he was having a conversation that you, so rudely, interrupted by doing your job.  Or maybe the women at the table are driving him insane, and he's trying to blink to you in Morse code "kill me."

  3. Well, I suppose if they are on a date then he wants the conversation all to himself.  Everybody is different.  Keep on working it.
