  1. Could you be more specific in your question?

To their needs- I'd say they still need to be recognized as human beings with a right to live just like anyone else. sometimes I think they need to be reevaluated for their drivers license after a certain age. Also they need better care in nursing homes rather than being neglected like some abandoned animal and should get the same courtesy as to their day to day life's like the younger generation.

If it wasn't for them we wouldn't be here!

  2. I own a senior care agency and what I see is that older people need family contact fequently. they need transportation, help with every day tasks such as housekeeping, cooking, laundry, yard work, transportation, etc. For most elderly on a limited income all these things are a big problem since it all costs money. Often, people who still could live live in their own homes with a little help are forced to go to nursing homes because they dont have the money to pay for private caregivers.

  3. According to my 90+ year old grandmother, one of the biggest problems among the elderly is loneliness. Imagine yourself realizing that you are weak and frail, have a limited amount of time to live, generally feel no longer needed because your kids and grand kids are all grown up and raising families of your own, and get the general impression that people find it tedious to be around you even for a visit. It would certainly take away my will to live pretty quickly.

Fortunately, my grandmother does not have this problem as she never has been one to "let the grass grow" and lives in a retirement community with plenty of folks to socialize with, plus I totally enjoy seeing her as often as I can. Most are not so lucky.
