Social security VFW widow ?

My friend , she was married to a VFW who passed away , she is 61 , I understand if she marries she loses that right , is this true and does she get all benefits and how much will she get $ she is getting worried about her choices !

Anyone know any thing concrete !

Loses what right, you need to complete your thought.  If you are talking about the Survivor Benefit Plan that her late husband had to pay into for her to get any money from the VA, then it is true if she remarries she will lose that pay.  Social Security has nothing to do with any VA payments.  If you are just talking about Social Security payments because she is a widow, yes those too stop if she gets married, BUT she can still collect SS because of her age and it can be based on her first husbands pay into SS as long as they were married at least 10 years prior to him passing away.  You need to figure out what she is talking about exactly.  AND, does she love someone enough to get married or she more worried about the cash aspect of her relationships.
