  1. Part of Social Security is called survivor's insurance, and it sounds as if you qualify for it.  Talk to your local Social Security office and they will advise.

  2. I'm sorry for your loss.

Call your local SS office for info about Survivor's pay or find the letter that SS mails annually.  One of the items listed is his amount as well as how much a survivor would be entitled to.  You might actually be able to get that info online from SS since you have access to his SS#.  You won't get as much as he did, but it will be more than you've been getting as his dependent.

  3. YOU SHOULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR A BENEFIT UNTILL YOU ARE 18 OR 22 IF YOU ARE IN COLLEGE....CONTACT SS AND INDICATE YOU ARE A DEPENDENT CHILD OF A DWE

  4. Your benefits will increase.  Contact Social Security.  You will need your dad's SS# and his death certificate.  Don't delay.  You have to wait a while to get them on the phone but almost always you will find a friendly helpful voice on the other end when you do.  I'm sorry for your loss.

  5. i think you do just call that office social security office and they can help you out. get his number (ssn) and stuff like that and be ready to anser questions.
