Social sercurity for deaf people?

hey i'm like 70 % deaf and i heard that deaf people get 500 bucks a month and also have to make up the months when they weren't paid is that true ?

i like in roanoke VA USA

  1. why would you want to do that?  deafness does not make you physically incapable of working.  just trying to make a quick buck sitting around on your butt?  people like you make it harder for people in the deaf community to show they can be successful.  i come from a deaf family and hearing about how people try to take advantage of the system because they can is sickening.  i'm so glad they're cracking down on people getting benefits simply because people are deaf... the only problem is they're not doing it fast enough!

    get a job and EARN your money like the rest of us hardworking folks...


  2. you have to be markedly impaired

    i don't know if there are more flexible rules for people who are hard of hearing

    generally though people who are hard of hearing are not considered markedly impaired (you can still take care of your personal needs)..

    and they only make up the time from when you first applied---so if you were born this way and didn't apply until you were 17---the benefits start at age 17 if you are eligible
