Society Rock likely to succeed in Duke of York Clipper Logistics Stakes
Society Rock is expected to be the one to beat in the Duke of York Clipper Logistics Stakes (Group 2) at York in England on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Things are not going to be easy for him though, as there are some fierce competitors up against him in the
class-1 encounter.
According to jockey Kieren Fallon, “This horse has to be up for top sprint honours again following his success in the Group 1 Haydock Sprint last year. He is a very versatile horse who was unlucky not to win first time out in this race 12 months ago, but
for being stopped when making his move. James’ horses are running better now which is a good sign and if we get the rub of the green mine is the one to beat.”
He added, “Form and statistics both suggest I am right. In the last eight years only one winner has been younger than five, and these two are four. Add to that the desperate record of the fairer s*x in this contest and my fellow is the pick.”
Overall, Society Rock has got some useful experience and he has delivered some solid results for his team over the years. He has managed to win the confidence of the bookies on numerous occasions and it will be interesting to see how many bets he manages
to win this time around.
The six-year-old horse has participated in a total of 20 races until now, which shows that he has the experience to handle pressure at this level. Despite that, he will have to stay focussed on his performance in order to challenge the best in the business.
The James Fanshawe’s trainee has managed to win five races in his career whereas finish as a runner up on four times. In addition to that, he has also secured the third spot twice, which shows that he has the ability to fight for the top three positions
with consistency.
However, he has not taken part in any race this year, which means that he will be under some pressure to some extent and will have to be at his best in the race.
