  1. It's never right to "dump off" family -- BUT - caring for an Alzheimer's patient can be very, very difficult.  They get violent, they eventually pee and poo anywhere and everywhere in the house, they wander off and get lost, start fires, will take the car and not know where they are, start water running and not turn it off.....   after some time it becomes too much to care for them in your home, and if you work or have a young family, it can be nearly impossible.

The saddest thing, they don't even know who you are.....

We also can not make everything be the Government's problem.   We the people need to step up to the plate too.

  2. Alzheimer's is a very difficult thing to deal with.  I just thank God that my parents never got that way.  The doctors tried to talk me into dumping my dad in a home.  I refused.  Took care of both my folks myself.

  3. Societal ill has existed as long as society I don't know the family member, or your circumstance as I sit here we have a girl with down's syndrom she comes here we accept as part of our family and enjoy sometimes she hurts herself sometimes she is a joy I guess what I am saying to you is your attitude it can be a blessing or a curse depending on how you look at it.
