  1. I believe that every culture has both an innate revulsion and fascination with pyromania. It can signify both death and rebirth. However, I feel that each culture chooses to interpret the forces that drive it differently than the other. Some cultures are more harsh in their judgment of it and some, more excepting of the causes for it.


  2. This the most honest way to look at it: Pyromaniacs are using something very powerful to cause great harm to others. PM's are the ultimate bully. Like all powerful things that are at our command it is used in warfare and to harm people. There are strong psychopathic features in pyromaniacs, they want to hurt others and they don't care about who else gets hurt. This is coupled with a immature/passive aggressive personality trait; the cause of the fire is not easily determined.

    I am for the death penalty for pyromaniacs. Weeding out losers like that may be the most enlightened sociocultural perspective.
