As a manager of a local hotel (not part of a large chain), you find yourself faced with a proposal by the hotel's owner to create a "partnership" with a local restaurant. The "partnership" is really the merging of two organizations, as hotel and restaurant will occupy the same building and merge their operations into a single company. The owners of the hotel and the restaurant believe that they can complement each other's needs. They would like your recommendations on how to proceed. After taking Introduction to Sociology, you believe you can anticipate some problems that the organizations might encounter as they try to merge.

With only this amount of information to start, use your sociology to make some recommendations to the owners as to likely problems which will arise as the two organizations merge. provide at least 3 recommendations that you have for the leadership of both companies that would heighten their awareness as to possible problems which may need to be addressed.

  1. One issue would be that the men probably don't know each other that well. Problems could come about such as money issues, leadership style issues, character issues, and they just really don't know each other that well and might not like each other. If things didn't work out between them, the two businesses would be ruined.
