Sociology Research Paper Finding Data?

Question

I'm majoring in sociology and doing a my topic is American education and how it is behind compared to the rest of the world. I searched high and low on the internet and can't find ANY data sheets or any type of data that includes percents at ALL. I would go to the library, but I am prone to headaches, and get frustrated and exhausted easily and I am afraid of wasting my time. Can anyone give me pointers?

I did a sociology abstract last year on affirmative action in American collages and found some really sad stuff about students with 4.3 averages not being able to get into college bc a minority with a 2.5 HAS to be taken first bc of their minority status.  It was proven that most Americans dislike affirmative action not based on gender or race but dislike the law in general feeling that no one should get any more free brakes than anyone else.  Your school website should have a library portal that will link you to its library database which should store periodicals on soci- and psychology.  Just do a search for "sociology" in the "periodicals" section and you should get loads of stuff on American education.  I can tell you that in many other countries like Holland doctors are done with school by their early 20's bc their career is predetermined at childhood.

Have you looked at test scores at all?

Try TIMMS (I think that's the acronym); a test given internationally.

Why not search the web it is right here at your fingertips... type in statics for American education.

Sorry but you will have to go to your Universities  Library .

All of the data and stats  you want are  only easily found there .

If if you are stressed find a time when it is quite . Saturday mornings are good .  There  is not a easy way out of this one  if you want a good grade
