    4. Yes, usually around once a month. I have grown it before though.

    5. No

Well, isn't 1.5 like mentally retarded? I got yelled at my freshman year for having a 3.2.

    2. College (just graduated with my bachelor's- May 08)

    3. 3.6

    4. No according to your criteria; it's very inconsistent. I usually smoke a few times a month then stop for 6 months to a year.

    5. No

I respectfully disagree with your hypothesis. As long as they're not smoking right before they attend school (which is not part of your hypothesis), *adding* marijuana smoking *to whatever a person's normal habits are* doesn't have a history of having much of an impact on their intellectual performance. If they're not a smart person to begin with (or lazy), they're going to have bad grades with or without it. But employees that smoke cannabis have better performance records, which controls for apathy since they were chosen and not mandated to attend school. In other words, even if you do find a correlation, it doesn't mean it's causal. But we'll see what you find out! :)

Also, you're going to have a hard time finding anyone to survey who is below 1.5, especially college students. Colleges put you on academic probation or kick you out if your GPA is below 2.5 or 2.0. You should widen your margins a little.

I think you should also consider that some students may have some type of learning disability before deciding that they have a low GPA because they smoke pot. There are also a lot of other factors to consider, has the person had a recent break up, loss of a loved one, loss of a child, suffering from depression, been raped, have post traumatic stress disorder-how many people suffering from the above mentioned things do you really think are able to focus on grades, maybe you should broaden your hypothesis.I do agree that some people who smoke pot have a lower GPA but was just thinking of other factors as well that could cause a low GPA.

    Jlowe: Your school must not be on a 4 point scale. On the 4 point scale: 0=F ; 1=D ; 2=C ; 3=B ; 4=A.

So a 3.2 would be mostly Bs and a few As, which isn't bad at all. But a 1.5 would be pretty bad, mostly Ds and a few Cs.
