Sociology question-american culture?

Question

anyone know the name of the article that talks about America and our ways from an outsiders point of view? I read it in highschool...want to show it to my husband and cannot find it...If you look at.......say.......an African tribe and consider their customs weird...well this article is written about Americans in such a way that makes our customs seem weird...its meant to open eyes...anyways i know this sounds confusing but if you know then you know...if not thanks anyways
