Can any knowledgeable person answer me this: Distinguish between secondary and primary socialization. Explain how both work together to ensure that individuals are capable of functioning harmoniously in society.

  2. - primary socialisation is the stuff that our parents teach us about the world, especially as young children, they each have their own perspective on the world and they blend theirs together to teach you the child

    - secondary socialisation is the things that other institutions teach us such as schools, religion, government, the media etc

    - this gives the individual a rounded view on the world and helps them to make decisions that follow the norms of society and the wants of the individual

    - socialisation of any kind helps us learn the norms and values of society
