    but yeah, i agree with the first answer - it's not universal.


  2. The stratification theory encompasses all off them....I do not however agree with the theory of stratification.

    Think of older Indian society where there were the "untouchables" at the bottom of the social hierarchy. It persisted over generations, was supported by a belief system, and was a characteristic of their society. However, that particular system of  stratification would not hold true in other cultures, so is therefore not universal.
