Sock monkey location problem!?

Question

I am trying to make a sock monkey for my little neighbor, but I need to find out where you GET socks like that. you know, the brown ones with the red heel. I can't order them online cuz i need them NOW. =O

i need a place to buy them in farmington hills, MI, or someplace close to there

If; you can't find those type of socks, why not buy a pair of white socks and use a red fabric marker to color the red part onto the end of the sock.  You could also use red felt and used fabric glue or stitch in on.  I have seen kits for a sock monkey at ACMoore or other craft stores, but they are about $10.  If you need them now and want to keep the cost down, then try to come up with something similar.  I know there is nowhere to buy just those socks around where I live.  Your neighbor is little, he/she will be happy just for you to make it for him/her.  The time spent with your little neighbor will be more important than the color of the sock!  Good Luck and have fun!!

You can get the socks for about 5 bucks a pair  from the Vermont Country Store catalog

They actually have kits in craft stores like Michaels and Ben Franklin to make it. The walmart craft section may have them too.
