Soda from gas station

Question

i went to get a dr. pepper and the color looked like dr. pepper with water, and when i tasted it it tasted like alkazeltzer, and i quickly put it back and spit it out, and my mouth felt funny for a couple of seconds then i drank coca cola, and tasted a but like it but not muc, and i told the worker there and he told me the dr. pepper was empty, is it bad if i drink soda from there if it is empty??? plz help im real nervous

No it isn't serious you just tasted soda water. Thats how soda is made. The cornsyrup flavoring and the soda water combine to create your beverage. You shouldn't die.

no i used to work at popeyes and sometimes the syrup ran out of the soda so we would replace it before giving it to someone, we had a new kid and he never replaced it and served himself some..it was watery looking, and he said it tasted like seltzer water

thats actually carbonated water..pretty much just water with the fizz in it..its just nasty tasting but you'll be alright nothing to worry about..its just soda without the syrup

No, you're okay.  You just drank the fizzy stuff unmixed with the flavoring.  At the back of the store (outside) where my bf and I go to a lot, you can see this big canister thing that looks like a helium tank for filling balloons, but it has carbonated water in it.  That's how they make it there; they mix the carbonated water with Dr. Pepper syrup.  You just got the carbonated water, which is yucky.

No, soda from dispensers is not the same as in a bottle. When it comes bottled, the syrup and carbonated water are mixed at the plant, when it is in the dispenser, its separated until it is dispensed. You probably just drank the soda water without the syrup, or whatever remnants were left.

you should be fine, they just ran out of the syrup.  when you are getting it from the dispenser they are actually separate.  the syrup flavor and the carbon is then mixed together as you get your drink.  on will run out faster than the other and they will have to hook up more.  you will be okay
