We have a 17 month old sofa from DFS. IT is a big big four seater. I basically bought it so I can study/ lounge at one end and my 2 1/2 year old at the other. My husband never uses it as he has a high backed armchair coz of his back. Due to us been boring sods we never have anyone round so most anyone has sat on it is just a couple of times over Xmas where we had (gasp) 3 people sat on the dam thing and the 6 week old puppy. Yet I pulled it out to vacuum behind it on Tuesday and it made the most horrendous creak noise and the base of the sofa is like a mountain under the middle seat. The man been out today and the sofa frame has snapped. This is the second time. The first time it snapped they "repaired" it on site as the wood snapped down ripping the base material. This time it has gone up and into the springs. The sofa was really expensive and I'm very p***ed with DFS's attitude. They are taking it away to repair on Tuesday and back they say on Friday but quote " we can't tell you what's up till we open it up." So i am thinking it will be a might longer than Friday! They offered us a replacement loan sofa while it was repaired but have nothing but leather and I have refused it because 1) we have a 9 month old puppy and 2 cats which dont go well with leather2) I'm a vegetarian and refuse to have a leather sofa.Sure its my choice but they have been really snotty and I don't care about the so**ing loan sofa I want my sofa fixed. My point is Why send out some fixer of furniture who says the frame is snapped to then say they don't know what to do till it gets to the factory?and secondsurely a snapped frame on a four seater sofa twice in 17 months with only 2 adults and a 2 1/2 year old in the house is not a sofa that is fit for purpose? I am only just started to pay for the dam sofa and very very annoyed.ANY ADVICE?Thanks guys!
