Soft Drink questions?

Question

People keep on telling me to drink 7up when I have a stomache ache? why?

and haven't tried the Dr.Pepper 21 flavors frink. does it really have different tastes?

and on a side note, is it true that drinking too much soft drinks will rot your teeth?

1: they're idiots.  You're supposed to drink flat 7up or tonic water, which are slightly basic and can settle it down.  However the carbonation forms carbonic acid, which can make an upset stomach worse.

3: yes, except for diet drinks that Don't contain splenda (which is as bad as sugar for cavities).  There's some evidence that cane sugar drinks are worse for your teeth that corn syrup drinks, but it's not conclusive.
