  1. Well, after reading the addition to your post, I had to edit mine as it sounded like you wanted to shoot a cat with one of these.

Thank you for rescuing and spaying that stray cat. It was very kind of you.

The injury or bruise that you mentioned could have been caused by the air gun. If you are wondering if it penetrated, you should feel a small hard area under the skin. this injury could have been caused by several things, 's unknown because she was a stray.

  2. Yes, they could hurt  a cat...and you could be ARRESTED for cruelty to animals...and in some jurisdictions, even more charges would apply.

    Stick to target shooting!

  3. have YOU ever been shot by one? Yes they HURT. but the chances of killing the cat are low but still very possible. it could still cause internal bleeding etc... Don't EVER shoot a cat with a bb gun, and if you know someone who has, report them to animal cruelty ASAP.

  4. Yes- they can injure them. I have gotten bruises from being shot at by them at close range.

Don't shoot anything unless you plan on killing and eating it- otherwise it is just cruel.

  5. I have a stray that had to have 2 bbs removed from under its skin.  Yes they injure!

  6. shoot yourself with it from the same distance?  Does it sting?  Imagine it 4 times as bad - well?

  7. A .22 works better. But an AIRSOFT can damage soft tissue or put out an eye. Don't you have an animal control officer. I'm sure he'd love to talk to you.

  8. ok first off...thats cruel! dont even try. they will probably hurt just like it hurts me and you (but maybe a little bit less because they have fur) dont shoot a poor cat

  9. It most likely wont huert the cat unless you shoot it in the eye, because airsoft doesnt hurt that musch unless its on bare skin.

  10. Are you asking because your cat has been shot with one, or because you want to know if this is a good means of discipline?

If it's the latter, I suggest you think of something else because shooting a cat with a BB gun is CRUEL.  If you're asking because your cat was shot by accident, then I guess you'll have to judge for yourself.  Does your cat seem injured?  Is it crying and/or l*****g the spot where it was shot?

  11. I have been shot on bare skin with high power airsoft at close range and it stings for a second and leaves no bruise.  I shoot myself all the time just to show people it doesn't really hurt when we play with them. (always wear goggles, that is the only real danger) Your cat also has the extra protection of fur, which would slow the plastic pellet way down before it hit.  If you are worried about it, keep your cats indoors.  If people have been shooting them it's probably because they are tired of cleaning up other people's pet's c**p.

Edit: I don't think most of these responses know the difference between metal bb's and airsoft.
