Soft ground not a cause for concern for the Peter Moody trained Black Caviar
The undefeated Black Caviar is likely to excel at Royal Ascot despite the soft ground, which will not hinder her performance in any way.

Peter Moody’s charge will run in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes on 23rd June, 2012, and chances are that she will be able to bag her 22nd consecutive victory.
Extra precautions were taken with the brown mare, when she was making the journey from Australia to Great Britain including two stop-overs. In order evade any injuries; she travelled in a body compression suit.
The daughter of Bel Esprit, out of mare Helsinge’s performance is anxiously awaited in the mega-event, where she will ride in the capable hands of her regular jockey, Luke Nolen.
The jockey commented on the surface of the track and stated that the runner will not be inconvenienced, and that she may not be used to it, but she can handle it well. He said:
"A genuine wet track - as long as they are getting fully in it - I don't see it being a great issue at all. She goes very well at home in different conditions. She galloped very good in testing conditions and came through it with flying colours."
The jockey further commented that the track at Ascot will test her stamina, but she will gain experience and learn from it.

Nolen told the media that he knows the runner well and can make her feel comfortable on the track. Black Caviar is a capable six-year-old, who can tackle any obstacle that comes her way.
Luke Nolen spoke of Black Caviar’s strengths and stated:
"She's a wonderfully relaxed mare and I can ride her however I decide. She can give them a start, she can break them right up the middle of a race and carve out sectionals that I've never seen a horse capable of. She can bring horses out of their comfort
zone."
Nolen believes that Black Caviar has all the talent in the world to conquer this race, he respects the other runners, but has more faith in his own.
