Question:

SoftPaws for cats?

I'm thinking about getting SoftPaws for my cat, (which are nail caps so they don't scratch but you don't need to declaw them) and I was wondering if they work good. Are they painful for cats? Do they work? I also heard they get stuck in the carpet, is that true?

  1. I never personally put them on my cats - I put up with ratty old furniture and just cut their nails myself.  But While working at the vet hospital, some of our clients tried them.  Most of them said it was not worth the aggravation.  They have to be reapplied as the nails grow and sometimes just fall off.  Many cats do not tolerate either the process of having them put on or the actual feeling of them on their nails.  Some cats even chew them off.

That being said,  I would certainly still try them over ever declawing.

Perhaps just some time and practice is what is needed. No harm in trying. :)

  2. I have a srcatching post for my cat so i don't need Soft Paws

for her. I have heard they help  but about pain i really don't know.

I also trim my cat's nails and thats why we don't have to worry about our furnitures.

  3. yes thay all are and i now that cuz my friends softpaws go stuck on the carpet so we cut i big hole in the middle lol:3

  4. I used them for my cat. Never again will I buy them. They didn't last a day my cats claws. It was a waste of money.
