I'm a pianist who needs a new computer. I'm looking to get the equipment and software required so that the new computer can transcribe my music based off my playing. What hardware do I need? What software do I need? Any thoughts?

  1. First and foremost, get a midi keyboard . What you will need is a good sound card with a midi input so that your keyboard can hook up directly in it.

Then you can get a software called Cakewalk which transcribes and prints beautiful music sheet just like a professional one.

You can also use Cubase if you want to lay a few tracks from your keyboard known as over-dubbing.

There is the software called 'REASON". This is a mind blowing virtual recording room software. You  might want to look into this.

Then their is Wavestudio which I use because of its simplicity. It has all the sound effects built in so that you can add delay, reverb, EQ, fuzz, sustain, flanger etc...etc...

These are the best ones so far.
