Software help???

Question

OK, i lost the sony software that came with my sony DCR-HC36 so where can i get a download for free? its like the blue disc that came with it. and i think its for connecting to the computer. btw i have a USB cable to connect the handycam to the computer.

You can probably manually tell your computer your plugging in hardware.

The CD's are just for dummies 98% of the time.

Normally, drivers are bundled with the OS - XP/ Vista... may not need the cd.

DCR-HC36, a miniDV vcam, must be iLink / FIREWIRE400**-connected to pc to upload video thru video capture or video editing* software while vcam is ON PLAYBACK.  Note: DV or Firewire port of vcam is 4pin. Before cable purchase** (Vcam/4pin=>firewireCABLE=>PC (4/ 6pin?), check pc for DV or firewire port, whether 4 or 6 pin. If none, install firewire card: pci for pc or pcmcia for laptop.
