Sohail Tanvir Gets a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Green-c60723 Signal for Tour to New Zealand
Sohail Tanvir, the fast bowler from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 has got clearance from the PCB to take part into the rest of the T20 matches against New Zealand and to become a part of the Test squad against the host team.
In a statement from the PCB, it was revealed that now when the fast bowler was physically fit, the team management as well as the selectors had decided to send him to New Zealand to join the rest of the team for the tour.
While talking to the reporters, a PCB official said, “The medical panel carried out a revaluation of his knee problem and also spoke to the Australian doctor who did the knee surgery on him last year in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. And it is now decided he is fit to play
international cricket.”
According to the reports, Tanvir, along with the Test skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972, and the left-arm spinner Abdul Rehman was leaving for New Zealand tonight. While Tanvir will be taking part into both Test and T20 matches, rest of the two players will only take
part into Test matches.
Prior to the announcement of sending Tanvir to join the rest of the team in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754, the fast bowler had been ignored by the board, apparently because of the fitness issues. However, for taking six wickets in an innings of the Quaid-e Azam Trophy match,
he eventually brushed aside all the doubts which the selectors could have in their minds.
While taking part into five Quaid-e Azam trophy matches, Tanvir claimed altogether 33 wickets. This was probably enough to underline his form, but for putting decent scores on the board every time he stepped onto the ground with bat in hand, he emerged as
a player who could play a decisive role in any Test or one-day match.
The PCB source was of the view that according to the Australian doctor who had operated Tanvir’s knee, it would require him at least 18 months before the graft would get settled down. Now in the current physical evaluation, it has prevailed that the more
the fast bowler would play, the better his knee would get.
“Therefore Sohail should carry on normally in cricket and try to avoid fielding positions in circle especially that require sharp bending as his bowling and batting ability can be fully utilized without further deterioration or pain in his left knee” added
the official.
