Sohail Tanvir keen to regain his place in Pakistan team – Cricket news
Geared up to regain his place in the national team, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292 in a fast bowling camp in Karachi really helped him enhance his abilities.
Leading to the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) organised a fast bowling camp in Karachi under the supervision of Akram, the legendary left-arm pacer.
While speaking to Pakpassion.com, the cricketer from Rawalpindi said that his confidence was low because of not being consistently selected to play international cricket but the former Pakistan captain made him realise that he is still good enough to represent
his country at the highest stage of the sport.
Tanvir mentioned, “Wasim said to me that I have a lot of ability and that I am good enough to play international cricket. However what I needed to improve was my self-belief, confidence and my morale which had been affected after being in and out of the
Pakistan side.”
Having impressed the national selectors in domestic cricket, the 28-year-old cricketer got an opportunity to showcase his skills in the inaugural ICC World T20 in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in 2007. The left-armer impressed one and all in the event and later made a name
for himself by becoming the leading wicket-taker of the very first season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008.
However, due to regular fitness issues, Tanvir failed to maintain his performance in international cricket and since then he has been in and out of the national squad.
Tanvir rates Akram as one of the all-time greats and claims that he is feeling much better about his game after spending some time with the legend.
“When one of the best bowlers of all time speaks highly of you, that is definitely going to help you and make you believe in yourself,” the all-rounder added. “I’m over here in England with my morale high and playing competitive cricket and looking forward
to reclaiming a spot in the Pakistan side once again.”
