With several solar cells which can be arranged in parallel or series, which arrangement would you choose and why, for:

1) low voltage, high current devices

2) high voltage, low current devices

I'm having a difficulties understanding and working this out as I've been in and out of school for the past month due to some unfortunate circumstances.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so very, very much.

  1. 1) low voltage, high current devices <=== parallel

    2) high voltage, low current devices  <=== series

with parallel suppplies, voltage is identical  across each

supply while current is the arithmetic sum of the paralllel

    cells' current

with series supplies, the voltage = sum of in-line

voltages while current is limited by the lowest current

    device in the chain.
