  1. Not visible in the United States.

  2. There is going to be one, but it won't be visible in California.

"The Solar Eclipse that takes place on August 1, 2008, will be a total eclipse of the Sun with a magnitude of 1.039 that will be visible from a narrow corridor through northern Canada (Nunavut), northern part of Russia, western Mongolia, and China. It belongs to the so-called midnight Sun eclipses, as it will be visible from regions experiencing Midnight sun.

A partial eclipse will be seen from the much broader path of the Moon's penumbra, including eastern North America and most of Europe and Asia."

After looking at some of the other answers, I went to the NASA site and found the same information that I gave above.

  3. I think i read several years ago, that there are no solar eclipses visible from the US in the next 30 years.

    Google it.

(According to wikipedia it will be visible from Northern canada, russia, and china)

  4. yes there will be and yes @ 8 to 9 pm

  5. No.  The Sun will not be visible in California during the Aug 1 eclipse.  If the weather is good here in Michigan, i might be able to see a partial.  One of the guys from the club is going to China - he should have good weather in the Gobi desert.  All he cares about is if it's clear.

I'm looking forward to the 2017 eclipse.  It cuts across the US.  You should be able to make it to some nearby bit of the total eclipse path.

  6. No.  The path of the shadow starts in extreeme northern Canada and passes by the top of greenland and proceeds over to russia.

The next full solar eclipse to be visable in the continental US in 2017. Nasa has a site devoted to all this.  http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse.htm...

    http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEatlas/SEa...

The second link takes you to a map of total eclipses showing the dates when they occur. August 21, 2017 appears to be out next best shot here in the US.
