Solar Greenhouse. Is it really effective?

I am very interested in a product called "Solar Gem Greenhouses". This product may be the answer for my locality, Pacific Northwest, where sunshine is not all that present during winter days. It is supposed to diffuse sunlight by very small fiberglass pieces built in the wall. But I am a little concerned of 'fiberglass' part.

Has anyone ever used this type of greenhouses? Does it really work as it claims? Is there any other material used for greenhouses, which may work better than fiberglass-fused type?

But i think you would be better off considering a solarium instead.
