I'm sure there are federal & state incentives for solar power in the US. This should help tackle the twin problems of rising electricity costs and the responsbility of having green home energy systems.

  1. A rather comprehensive list of incentives by state may be found at http://www.dsireusa.org/ .  This is the standard place where people look when considering a renewable energy system.

  2. Massachusetts, Arizona, California, Georgia and Illinois are some of the top states with solar power incentives. Federal law gives you a 30% tax incentive (maximum $2000) for solar PV, water heaters and fuel cell installations.

In California solar power incentives include a tax rebate of $3.50 per watt AC for homeowners using grid-tied photovoltaic installations (part grid, part solar). In Texas, the tax incentive is $4.50 per watt AC.

  3. Two sources:

    1) Contact or lookup your electric company, they should be able to    help.

    2) If you haven't bought any solar power products yet ask the company you are planning to purchase from, they should know if not try another company.
