Solar Power?!?

Question

Hey.

I was looking to install some solar panels on my roof as to power my room. Where would I go to get the information and knowlage as to how to do it? I want to do it myself Where do I buy these things from (ie. panels, capacitor...so on and so forth.)

Please let me know.....

My friend, there are 2 ways you can install a solar panel onto your house.  The expensive way which means you have to hire contractors and pay them to do it.  Or the cheap way which is what your looking to do is a "do it yourself" install.  My brother in law uses this guide that he used to install solar panels onto his house, he tells me he is saving so much money on electricity that I had to get one myself.  The guide also shows you how to install wind power generators too.  Very useful

I ran a Google search on a question very like this. There are tons of sites out there with the information you want- and the kits and instructions you seem to be looking for.

You also can take a look at DIY.Com: A number of times I've seen shows on the DIY channel about installing solar panels.

I don't think you can power one room efficiently.

You would have to isolate the circuits powering the room, put them in a new panel, buy and store batteries, intsall the inverter etc.
