This link at Nasa was talking about a solar storm.

but the date is 2006.

So, could this change?

If not, how will it afect us?

  1. I am sure there will be beautiful aurora borealis. It also may s***w with electornics and cause power outtages. And maybe I will get a killer tan :)

  2. Well, the solar cycle is an 11-year cycle, so it looks like we should be at solar maximum that year.  The article gives a pretty good idea of what it could cause, so I'm not sure why you're asking.  It will cause disruptions, but nothing too major.

  3. No because they are speaking of a later date. There is evidence by the solar belt moving at fast rate in 1996 when prior to there was not fast moving activity. So we will see some sort of solar storm in the years they are predicting. By those years it will be a 40 year completed cycle for the Sun Spot formation. We will experience something, but it is unknown as to what and we can't predict exactly what until it happens in the years 2010-2012 the event is supposed to occur. That is what they are saying.

I'm sure if something new arises we will be informed. Obviously it is not much of a threat if it is not all over the media via news networks ;)
