I am looking to buy a 15 watt solar panel, a 7 amp charge controller, to charge my 105 amp hour deep cycle battery.

I am going to be running 2 fans that use .52 amps each for 7 hours for 3 days. How much will the solar panel charge the batteries?

  1. I just used the guide at http://www.freepower4u.com to help me BUILD a solar power system (batteries, solar panels, inverter, disconnect, etc) for the grand total of $197.

I'm using it with some deep cycle batteries which charge during the day and can run my fridge all night... so I'm guessing it would run your air conditioner.

It's a great little guide which I highly recommend.

  2. Your battery will run down. You are using more electricity than you are replacing.  Figure on at least a 45 watt solar panel per 12 volt deep cycle battery if you want to return the battery to full charge each day.
