Solar eclipse mumbo jumbo?

my mom says that when a solar eclipse happens your sopposed to tie something red around a fruit tree that is going to give fruit and she said that if you dont tie something red around the tree the friut will come out disfigurid like for exampl my mom says that when she was a little girl her mom told her dad to tie something red around the peach tree and the apple tree because of a solar eclipse that was going to happen and her dad did not do anything so when the fruit was coming the peach trees peaches had 2 peaches fused together and the same with the apple tree it caused them to have abnormal fruit

I have seen a lot of fruit like that, and I always thought that it was caused by the fruit not being thinned properly.
