Solar panel question, does anybody know how much, cost, and kwh size to power 36000 kwh usage in one month?

There are other ways to make renewable energy .... other than solar....  more cost effective.... I'm in vt and would like to get a group together to do some projects.... I see your in the albany area not too far away..... let's chat .... I am presently pushing out more  power than you require ..... chris

That works out to 1200 kWh per day, which means a required maximum power output of about 200 kW.  Such an installation will cost about two million dollars.

My first guess was $2.4 million, but for grins and giggles I hopped over to BP's sight to use their calculator.  So...... BP estimates you will get about 1,000kwh from a 10kw system that costs $70,000.

You are looking for 36 times the energy,  so......you are looking at 360kw system costing $2.5 million (including tax incentives).

I do suggest, that before committing to such a system, you look into the newer products coming from companies such as First Solar, Nanosolar, Global Solar, and dozens of other such companies.  Thin films are the most economical, even though you may have to wait a couple years.

I think you may have slipped a decimal place there.......

Thirty Six THOUSAND kWh a MONTH? Thats 432,000 kWh a year.......I run a 75 unit condo complex and we use 800,000 a year for 75 apartments........

but anyway, 7 to 10 dollars a kWH installed........panels, inverters, grid tie....is a working number.

But as far north as Albany? look into a Skystream wind generator if you are trying to power a home....
