  2. You would use solar photovoltaic panels to generate electricity for a city. They are also known as solar pv.

  3. I would say the best fit would be -SOLAR THERMAL POWER PLANTS, the panels would consist of a highly reflective surface.

A solar thermal power plant indirectly makes steam from focused solar energy which turns an electric generator.

Photovoltaic do produce an electric current but because of the area needed to have an impact on a city's electric grid they are better suited for individual buildings.

  4. Catagory (GREEN Environment)

  5. Solar Thermal Power Plants use mirrors to heat an oil to create steam.  Solar Thermal Heat is the heat produced by the mirrors.  If your solar panels are in one location outside the city, and produce energy (electricity) which is sent to the electrical grid and transferred to the city, then that is a solar power plant that does that.  But if your solar panels are photovoltaic, they are usually on roofs or sides of buildings within the city and convert solar energy directly to electricity which is transfered directly into the building bypassing the public electric grid.
