  1. The Sun is 330,000 times larger than the Earth

The moons of all planets are named after Greek gods

The planet Neptune has not made a complete revolution around the sun since it was discovered in 1846

the Solar System also contains the 169 moons

  2. It's surrounded by a spherical cloud of dust and comets known as the Oort Cloud!

It has 2 "belts", The Asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter and the Kuiper Belt beyond Neptune's orbit!

It has 4 rocky planets and 4 gas giants!

    The way it was formed!

  3. visit www.elegant-universe.webs.com/int.html for a lot of interesting facts about our solar system and our universe.....

  4. never ending and ever fascinating !!!

  5. it is  beautiful

    no life in the space

    wish to go there someday

  6. the universe is endless, ancient... and wonderful.

  7. 1.SUN HAS ABUNDANT ENERGY

2.A REAL N NATURAL SOURCE OF POWER IN UNIVERSE

    3.POLLUTION FREE

    4.NIL TRANSPORT COST

    5.SELF-SUFFICIENT CREATOR

    6.A NEW PROSPEROUS GREEN WORLD

  8. The Earth is closest to the sun in winter, than in summer.  (In the Northern Hemisphere, at least)...

The moon that we see every night was the result of an early Earth getting clobbered by something the size of Mars.

You can see the rings of Saturn through binoculars.

All the stars you see when you look up at night belong to just our galaxy... and there are billions of other galaxies.

  9. solar system is a minute place of a very big vast universe. if the universe is the size of a football, then the solar system  is the size of the point of a needle

  10. The space doesnt have an end point ,starting point or a midpoint.

All stars have a life cycle like humans and animals. They are born ,they grow and they die.

For us to reach our nearest galaxy Andromeda, the fastest space vehicle ,they say ,that can be ever designed will take 35000 light years.Light year is the distance travelled by the light in one year. And our life span is just 100 years.

  11. Neptune was discovered mathmatically.

Someone had plotted Uranus' orbit and could not explain certain innaccuracies. When they applied the degree of error to some of newtons laws, they determined a body of a certain mass should exist in a certain direction. When they looked there, they discovered a planet, Neptune.  The object had been obseved before but being so far out, it moves very slowly thru the sky and it wasn't recognized as a planet until this mathmatical search!!!

  12. i want to  be scientist so it is true i love solar & space science.

      i wanna go nasa

  13. 1)venus takes 248 days to rotate while it takes only 225 days to revolve around the sun.so a day is longer than a year!!

2)saturn has such a low density such that if there is such a big lake then saturn would float on it!!

3)the wind pressure on jupiter is so high that it can easily crush a high storey building.

4)pluto rotates in the oppposite direction as compared to other planets and hence many people consider it as an accident planet.

  14. 1. The universe is the only thing that can tame my curiosity, since it is endless…

    2. i love nebula... it makes for a better artist than picasso

    3.  there are possibly aliens to enforce religion onto... read my book or die!

  15. Visible emissions from the night side of Venus have been reported for over 300 years. Known as the Ashen Light these emissions were first reported by Giovanni Riccioli in 1643. The Ashen Light is one of the oldest unsolved mysteries of the solar system. It consists of a faint luminosity on the nightside of the planet, similar in appearance to "earthshine" on the Moon but generally not as bright. Ashen Light is most often reported when Venus is in the evening sky at which time the evening terminator of Venus is toward the Earth.

  16. ha everything is a mystery.......

    does anyone know about aliens........

is there any planet known having life .....

    strange facts are always interesting......

    hundreds of mysteries .....

    thats what i like.............

  17. Your Answer:

1]Saturn's satellite Titan spews hydrocarbon fountains which reach up to 13 kilometers from its rocky surface.sounds really terrific to me.

2]Jupiter's great red spot has winds that run 2200 miles per hour.It is hard to imagine  what will happen if Earth will experience such tornadoes.

3]Scientists has discovered some exo-planets that has 20 times as bigger as Earth. They are also rocky like ourrefereedred as Super Earths but located so far away thhuman beingsngs are unable to reach there in there lifetime with current technoloOff courserse these planets are not inhabitable as they are also far away from there parent star. They are at -200 degree celsius or more.

4]Isn't it a very mysterious thing that our planet is holding such huge quantity of waters of all the oceans on its surface just because of gravity.

5]The universe is full of mysteries & there are a lot of to unfold yet.

Even great minds ever not able to explain what exactly is the cause of gravity.

Like this there are terms like dark energy responsible for expansion of universe Black holes, quasars the list is pretty long.

  18. Planetary orbits are elliptical. That's not the cool bit - the cool bit is that the time it takes for a planet to sweep out a given distance is the same depending on the area it sweeps out - so when it's far from the sun, it travels slowly and sweeps out a long, narrow bit of area, and when it's close, it travels fast and sweeps out a short, fat bit! Or, to put it simply, "A line joining a planet and the sun sweeps out equal areas during equal intervals of time." (This is Kepler's second law of planetary motion.)

Eratosthenes worked out that the Earth was spherical from his observations of shadows at midday on the summer solstice. Not only did he work that out, but he managed to work out the circumfrence of the Earth - using only his eyes, his brain, and his (well, someone else's) feet - and he was accurate to within 1%!

Humans can make a few robots and send them up to space to another planet. One goes in to orbit... and manages to take a photo of the other gracefully descending on to the planet. A one in a million shot. That is amazing! (MRO photographing Phoenix. An AMAZING photo!)

Electron structure. Just... electron structure. It's practically poetry in motion - just LOOK at the way those electrons are ordered! Isn't the Periodic Table amazing? It's four periods down, that means it has four orbits. It's three from the right, that means it has three spaces free in its outer orbit. That makes you... Selenium!

The fact that stars and solar systems condense out of great amounts of gas and dust and ice and metals, the pressure rising and rising until nuclear fusion starts. The remaining material is pulled in to a disc, where heavier pieces begin to accrete and gather together, sweeping up more and more stuff until you have planets. And on those planets, a bunch of common atoms start gathering together in the tide pools and forming larger and larger molecules, until one day, quite by accident, one forms that can make copies of itself. Self-replication becomes more accurate. Cells form around these molecules. Other molecules become 'organs' within the cells, which eventually form colonies of multicelled creatures. Those multicellular creatures continue evolving and adapting and coming up on to land, and forming amphibians and reptiles and crude mammals, until, one day, all the big reptiles die. The mammals take advantage and begin to grow bigger and stronger and smarter. They move in to the trees, they come down again. They develop tools and language and fire and technology, and one day, they sit down and start to learn about where they come from.

Er, sorry XD That was more science in general.

  19. Astronomy is the study of everything in the Universe, except perhaps dental hygiene.

The Moon is getting farther from the Earth - getting orbital energy from the Earth's rotation through the tides. And the effect has been measured using the retroreflectors that the astronauts put on the Moon, and a laser.  The distance to the Moon can be measured with an error of less than an inch.

The Phoenix lander currently on Mars has a microscope good enough to image large bacteria, if they exist.  And, the rovers on Mars can image details down to a tenth of a millimeter. Imagine an instrument that lets you see that kind of detail on Mars while you sit in your nice comfy house back on Earth.
