The FC Koln manager has criticised the German Football Association for refusing to overturn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896’s one-match suspension.
Stale Solbakken has blasted the German Football Association for refusing to overturn Lukas Podolski’s one-match ban and admitted that the DFB is doing nothing for the betterment of the players.
The manager criticised the committee members and compared the three man panel to statues. Lukas Podolski missed FC Koln’s match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hannover-96-c39492 last week through suspension and the Billy Goats lost the game 4-1.
“As far as I am concerned, that committee is dead. There shouldn't be three men sitting there, but three statues,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former FC Copenhagen manager also expressed his delight on the return of Podolski for the clash against Borussia Dortmund on Sunday at home. He stated that Lukas Podolski’s presence in the team surely makes a huge difference as the player is capable of turning a match over its head.
The tactician insisted that the German international has had a sensational season and is hopeful that the striker continues with his stunning goalscoring form for the remainder of the season also.
“I am delighted to have him back as he is a matchwinner. He can score a goal or provide an assist in the decisive moments,” he concluded.
On the other hand, Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp is confident of getting the better of FC Koln in the next league fixture. He insisted that his side has been in great form and are well capable of beating any team in the league. The manager is hopeful of maintaining the lead at the top of the table with only eight games to go until the season ends.
“Cologne are talking about ending our (unbeaten) streak, but of course we want to prevent that. It is going to be a really great game, and I don't mind if we win it in the end,” Klopp concluded.
FC Koln are currently 14th on the Bundesliga standings table with 28 points from the 27 games played. The team is only two points above the relegation zone.
