Sold an item to someone online and he might be trying to scam me?

I had a camera that i sold on amazon. It was working fine before i sent it. But once he/she received it, he/she said it wasnt working "properly". I assured him it was working fine. I even had UPS package the camera for me, so i know the camera was packaged well. Now I am wondering if he/she pulled the switch and return. If you dont know what that means, he had the same exact camera, except his/hers was faulty or broken. Switched it with mine, and he/she is trying to send their broken camera back asking for a refund. What should i do? Under amazon rules, i am not obligated to refund items if i suspect mischief. What should I do???

  1. Id say if you were sure it worked fine when you sent it and have no reason to believe that anything could be wrong with it then maybe they are trying to trick you. If you had UPS pack and ship it then it should have arrived perfectly fine.

  2. stiff em. they will get theirs. and if they were any smarter they woudl have a better scam

  3. Assuming that the serial numbers match and there is no switching of cameras, you can make a good faith gesture and pay for the return of the camera to see, if in fact, that it's not working properly or if the customer just doesn't know how to operate a camera.  Based on what you discover, either return the money back to the buyer or offer to pay for the repair and seek recovery of this repair by filing a damage goods report with the shipper's insurance carrier.

    Good luck!
