Soldier murders wife and unborn child and then turns gun on himself?

She had an affair while her husband was in Iraq. She got pregnant from the guy she dated while her hubby was gone and when he returned from Iraq to find out that she wanted a divorce and the child was not his he grabbed a 45 caliber and shot her in the head point blank range killing her and the unborn child. Then he turned the gun on himself.

My question is why would anybody want to cheat on their spouse knowing that the consequences can sometimes be deadly?

I guess one could say "You roll the dice and you take your chances". When a person decides to cheat they don't stop to think about how the other person will react. Some can walk away but some will bring a final closure to the affair right then and there. You really have no idea what the reaction will be. You may think that you know your spouse very well....but....you're toying with their love and emotions and basically throwing it in their face. It's not just your own spouse you need to worry about either...it's the other spouse as well. In reality you really are putting your life on the line even though you may not think so. It's sad to hear of the story you mentioned...but...there are a lot of husbands and wives out there who have no idea of how close they have come to being a front page story themselves!!

The question should be..........why would one marry  one who is out of control and have distructive tendencies.

She's probably gotten shot  for not having supper ready either!

No one believes it can happen to them.  No one thinks for a second my husband will kill me...well I do, cause I know if my husband did that, he would have to go.  War warps the mind.  This is my second time over here and I must say that I have become a little more loony then I was before I got here.  I told my husband before I left the behavior that i expected of him.  I also told him if he felt like he wanted to cheat, that it was only right to tell the woman involved that his wife was crazy and if she ever found out, it would be h**l to pay.  He says he never cheated, can't put my life on it, but I believe it.  Long story short no one believes it can ever happen to them.

Back in Roman times, this was perfectly acceptable if the wife cheated. Kind of expected actually-even the kids. It's human reaction, some just go a little further than others.

Our society as a whole operates in the here and now.

Many don't bother to consider consequences.

Many are selfish and self-centered.

They want what they want, and everybody else be damned.

They want freedom without responsibility.

There are some very foolish women in the world, and some very foolish men.  They play stupid games with the hearts and lives of others.

Imho when it comes down to it, no matter the excuse for cheating, that's what it is, an excuse.

Cheating on a spouse is betrayal at its worst.  Cheating on someone who is risking his (or her) life to protect your freedom is inexcusable.

Freedom is never free.  Too often we forget how much it costs.

The casualties don't always occur on the battlefield.

This situation was tragic all the way around.

They are so caught up in their previous activities of having other men waiting on the sidelines when she was dating, she expects to make it be alright? No *****. If you cheat, expect to suffer the consequences. Unfortunately, the consequence was death.
