Okay, so I know everyone says that Carnival Valor will not sell you alcohol if you are under 21. I have also heard the things about you can drink if your 18 because your in international waters. So whats the deal. For instance, if im at dinner, and I want something as little as a fuzzy navel, me being 18, they wouldnt bring it to me? or are they really just gonna say no.

  1. There is no "not checking your ID" on a cruise if you want a drink.  You have to show your "Sail & Sign" card to pay for the drink, and it is coded to show whether you are >21.

The drinking age on Carnival is 21.

  2. this is from Carnival's FAQ

    Drinking Alcohol On Board -

The minimum age for the purchase and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages in the bars, lounges and gift shops is 21 years of age. Carnival reserves the right to refuse the sale of alcoholic beverages to anyone.  In the event that Bar/Restaurant/Gift Shop Staff are in question that a guest is less than 21 years old, they shall request picture identification, prior to serving the drink or selling the bottle of liquor.

there is NO waver that will give you any alcohol on ship!!!!

  3. The legal drinking age on all cruise ships is 21 or older and they do enforce it and it does not matter if they are in international waters.  The only exceptions to that is is you are traveling with your parents they can sign a BEER/WINE waiver to allow you to have those.

Just go to the web site for Carnival and read their policy in the Frequently Asked Questions  (FAQ) section.

  5. Carnival is trying to get away from "drunken kids" reputation. Legally, yes, in the Caribbean the legal age is 18, but it is up to Carnival to set their own policy. And they do- it is 21 on board. Your on board ship's card will be marked that you are under 21. But, bar staff works for tips, so they WANT to sell to you. If anyone else buys for you, no one really cares if you "share"... but buying may be a problem.

  6. Legal drinking age is 21 as that is what they've set. However, provided your parents don't mind and they don't check your ID too closely you might be able to get away with it.

Or you can wait until you get to port and hit the closest bar.

  7. Just bring your own..h**l i did..without any problems, pack it in your check in bags and by the time you get to your room you will have your booze.. and they will say no to you if you use your SIGN AND SAIL card.. it is encoded in your info allong with your pic.. you can use it whenever you buy something on the ship.....good luck

  8. The drinking age on Carnival is 21, no matter where the ship is.  Yes, they really would say NO.
