Solid at Impact?

I am thinking about buying the cleveland cg golds and i hear people saying they are solid at impact. What does that mean. Is that a good thing.

It is a good thing.  It means that you hit the ball squarely and thus did not feel any (or very little) vibration.  A pure strike.  The CG golds are designed to feel solid even when you don't hit it perfectly, thus the gold material behind the face which dampens vibration.

I have read mostly good reviews about the Cleveland CG Gold. Although, what you need to keep in mind is that you need to use a club that you personally feel comfortable with. Do an online search of reviews 'Cleveland CG Gold Reviews' before you make your purchase.

SOLID AT IMPACT MEANS YOU STRUCK THE BALL WELL. ON THE SWEET SPOT ALOT OF PEOPLE SAY. ITS A GOOD THING YOU'LL BE ABLE TO FEEL IT.

The golf ball is hit on the sweetest spot(the G-Spot of the club), hence the ball flight is solid.

The ball is easier to hit on the sweet spot and less likly to hit on the heel/toe of the club.  The Gold irons are more foregivingcompared to the Red irons.

Yes, it's usually a good thing. It means that a well struck shot does not feel overly soft, like you couldn't even tell you hit anything. Or overly firm like the whole shock from impact went directly up the shaft into your hands. A lot of this is from the shaft and not the clubhead, but both do play a role.

A few better players prefer very "responsive" or "sensitive" feeling equipment, because they can sometimes learn more about their swing from feel than from ball flight - newer, more forgiving balls and clubheads can sometimes hide swing errors a little.

When someone says a certain club feels solid, its a subjective thing open to opinion. Each player has a different feeling about what clubs feel solid or not.  For example-I do not like soft inserts in my putter, but most people do.  Remember, If one club was clearly the best, everyone would be using it.
