Solid wood (Sika T54 or batton out?)?

Im thinking of laying around 100 square metres of solid oak grade A&B to a concrete sub floor. The mostiure content has been checked and is fine to lay on. What would be the best method Using Sika T54 glue or by using battons and secret nailing? Does it sound hollow on battons? Please don't suggest floating floor cos they always create expansion problems. Ive fiited about 50 solid wood floors. Are they any other methods?

  1. I usually batton but fill the gaps with polystyrene to keep the noise down, I have had no problems with this method but have seen glued floors lift about 300mm due to insufficient expansion gap.

  2. 18mm ply then secret nail (38's) assuming you don't have any finished floor height problems, if you do I'd fit using elastilon, much easier than glue down but just as effective

also battens are fine size depends on finished floor height but has to be thick enough to take the nail.

3 ply building paper regardless of instalation method

as for expansion gap 3mm per metre of cross grain run with an expansion joint every 8m

Come on now if you've laid 50 floors surely you know what I mean by an expansion joint, learn your trade
