Solis Jonathan tames Pablo Antonio Aguilar in qualifying round contest at XVII Peru International
Guatemala’s Solis Jonathan was impressive in the court when he slaughtered Peru’s Pablo Antonio Aguilar in Men’s Singles qualifying round in the XVII Peru International 2012 on Wednesday, April 11, in Peru.
Jonathan defied all odds in his contest against the local shuttler and won the battle in an emphatic manner without losing any set.
He won the battle in straight games by showing his tremendous skills in the court and advanced into the nest stage.
On the other hand, Pablo could not live up to expectations as he failed to escape defeat from the hands of his in-form opponent and crashed out by losing the match in straight sets in 35 minutes.
Both players started their run in the first set in a composed manner as they were focused in the court. They also played safe badminton to avoid making unforced errors and the score progressed at the same pace from both sides.
Until the end of first half, both men failed to set up a comfortable lead as they were playing at the same level.
After the break, Pablo tried to gear up his speed but failed to manipulate loopholes of his opponent and remained struggling.
On the other hand, Jonathan remained positive and quicker in the court. He controlled the pace of rallies at the crucial moment of opening set and managed to win it with a dramatic margin of 21-19.
In the deciding set, Jonathan was everywhere in the court as he was on a completely different level this time. He did not miss even a single chance to build lead over his local opponent and remained in commanding position in opening half.
After the break, Jonathan continued playing positive game without showing mercy to his nervous opponent. He did not lost his focus and kept the pace of rallies fast which disturbed the flow of his opponent.
Jonathan was in control of the pace and managed to bag the game with an inspiring 21-13 score on the board.
The in-form Jonathan emerged as the winner in this 35-minute contest by ending it with a spectacular margin of 21-19 and 21-13.
