Sollys Nestle Osasco wins bronze at FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship
The bronze medal match of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship took place on October 14 between Sollys Nestle Osasco as well as Mirador Santo Domingo. The two clubs faced each other today early in the morning in Doha, Qatar, as Sollys Nestle
Osasco was able to make a clean sweep over their opponents and claim the third spot on the podium.
Not only did Sollys Nestle Osasco manage to win the match in three back to back sets, they did so in a smothering fashion. The Mirador Santo Domingo did not give much of a challenge to Sollys Nestle Osasco, who won the bronze medal at the following final
set scores: 25-9, 25-13 and 25-8.
The coach of Sollys Nestle Osasco, Luizomar Moura, shared his feelings in the following manner after the match had reached it close: “This was definitely one of our best matches in this competition. I’m happy that my young players had the opportunity to
come here and gain a lot of experience by playing against some of the best players in the world. We would like to thank the organizing committee for taking care of us during our stay. It couldn’t have been better.”
On the other hand, the coach of the Mirador Santo Domingo club, Wilson Sanchez, expressed himself in the following manner at the press conference after the match had come to an end: “We have learned a lot from our four matches in this championship. My players
have a great future ahead of them, also as part of the national team.”
The player that was able to score the most points amongst both teams was Ivna Marra of Sollys Nestle Osasco who tallied a total of 13 points in the entire match. Marra was helped by her team-mates Juliana Costa and Adenizia Silva, both of whom were able
to help by putting up 11 points each for their club. While on the Mirador Santo Domingo side, the most active player was Brayelin Martinez as she topped her team by putting up a total of five points for her team.
